Desire To Rot Freely marked the culmination of a month-long artist residency, presenting a body of work developed through material exploration and site-responsive processes. The works incorporated seaweed, human hair, and naturally dyed fabrics sourced from the river, reflecting an ongoing interest in organic matter and transformation.

Spiraro acknowledges that their work is primarily made on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation.
